The Monkey Tiki is an object that featured in the Disney Junior animated series, Jake and the Never Land Pirates. It is a legendary golden monkey idol that has the power to switch its wielders' bodies. The idol was originally hidden deep within the lost city of Monkey Picchu deep within the jungles of Never Land.

Role in the series[]

The Monkey Tiki first appeared in the episode "Monkey Tiki Trouble". Captain Hook and his crew uncovered a map leading to the ancient ruins of Monkey Picchu. Unknown to Hook and his crew at the time, King Zongo and his Monkey Pirates underlings were following Hook and his crew from the tree tops in attempts to steal the Monkey Tiki idol for themselves. However during King Zongo and Captain Hook's struggle for control over the Monkey Tiki, the tiki causes both captains to switch bodies, much to Zongo's delight, taking full advantage of Hook's bumbling crew's who believe he is the real Captain Hook, allowing Zongo to take control of them and the Jolly Roger. However, Mr. Smee begins to question Hook's strange behavior, and once Jake and his crew sail by, they also notice Zongo's actions. Captain Hook manages to sneak back aboard the Jolly Roger with the aid of the Monkey Pirates, believing he is Zongo. With the assistance of Jake and his crew, Captain Hook returns back into his own body and in command of his ship once more, while King Zongo and his monkeys are forced to flee. The Monkey Tiki is last seen as Hook demands Jake and his crew to get rid of it.
