The Golden Fishing Poles were fishing rods featured in the Disney Junior animated series, Jake and the Never Land Pirates. They once belong to the legendary pirate fisherman, Captain Fisher. He had hidden them on Never Land before leaving the island.

Role in the series[]

In the episode "Cubby's Sunken Treasure", Jake, Izzy, Cubby, and Skully were fishing on Pirate Island when they fish out Captain Fisher's bottle. The young pirates discover that the bottle is magic and that Captain Fisher left clues to find his treasure hidden somewhere on Never Land. Unknown to Jake and his crew, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee were spying on them yet again. Hook swipes the bottle when the puny pirates reach the first location on Never land. But Jake and his crew remember and head to the second location atop the Twisty Tree and look for an X. Captain Fisher's treasure chest was hidden at the bottom of Crocodile Creek. Jake and his crew race down to the creek but Hook and Mr. Smee reach the creek first but before they retrieve the treasure at the bottom of the creek, Tick-Tock the Crocodile prevents Hook and Smee from getting the treasure chest chasing the villainous duo away from his lair.Now with Tick-Tock circling the waters of the creek the young pirates needed a safer means to retrieve the treasure, Cubby come up with the idea to fish the treasure from the Crocodile Creek, only for Captain Hook to snatch the chest from the young pirates when they let their guard down, before flee back to the Jolly Roger. In order to get the the treasure back Jake pretends to be Captain Fisher to scare Captain Hook into giving the treasure back but Hook soon learns that he's been tricked and gives chase after the sea pups. Izzy quickly use her pixie dust giving her and the rest of the crew the means to escape from Hook with the treasure back to Pirate Island. Once back on Pirate Island Jake and his crew discover Captain Fisher treasure is a set of golden fishing pole for each of them.

The Golden Fishing Poles make a cameo appearance in the book "My First Look Find Jake and the Never Land Pirates" as one of the various objects scattered aboard Bucky.

One of the Golden Fishing Poles is featured in the Disney Junior online game "Jake's Treasure Trove",it is seen as apart of the backdrop of Pirate island's Hideout as the player help Jake and his crew search for hidden treasures.
